Exemplary Driver Decoration

(Odznaka "Wzorowy Kierowca")

Instituted by decision of government board of May 14, 1952. Conferred in three grades (gold, silver and bronze) by the Minister of transportation for civilian and Minister of National Defense to military drivers.

Badge: round, 30 mm in diameter, in the form of a stylized tyre. In the center there is a picture of a truck with the red enameled coat of arms of poland above and a white and red scroll inscribed WZOROWY KIEROWCA below. Until 1963 there was the conferment year added below the scroll.

Decoration for Conservation of National Monuments

(Odznaka "Za Opieke nad Zabytkami")

Instituted by the Minister of Culture and Arts on October 22, 1963 and amended on May 16, 2001. Conferred in two classes (gold and silver) to the individuals who care for national monuments and objects of national culture, and for conservation of objects of art.

Badge: gold or silver plaque, 18 x 24 mm, in the form of a castle turret with a gateway, encircled from the bottom with the words ZA OPIEKE NAD ZABYTKAMI. The reverse has a mounting pin or screw.

Meritorious Cultural Worker Decoration

(Odznaka honorowa "Zasluzony Dzialacz Kultury")

Instituted by the Government on November 10, 1963. Conferred in a single class for achievement in cultural and educational work. The decoration was conferred by the Minister of Culture and Arts.

Badge: 15 x 30 mm, composed of two fields, covered with white (upper) and red (lower) enamel. The upper field bears a three-line inscription ZASLUZONY / DZIALACZ / KULTURY; the lower one a stylized Ionic column. The reverse has a mounting pin.

Decoration for Merit to Education

(Odznaka honorowa "Za Zaslugi dla Oswiaty")

Instituted by the Government on January 25, 1985. Conferred in a single class to teachers for exemplary work. It can also beconferred to individuals and organizations who assist schools in educational work. The decoration is conferred by the Minister of National Education.

Badge: bronze plaque, 22 x 30 mm, in the form of the stylized open book. On the left there is the stylized torch of learning, on the right the four line inscription ZA / ZASLUGI / DLA / OSWIATY. The reverse has a mounting pin.

Note: the badge conferred to organizations and other bodies is a table plaque of the same shape as the above, but larger (90 x 66 mm).

Decoration for Merit to Health Protection

(Odznaka honorowa "Za Zaslugi dla Ochrony Zdrowia")

Instituted by the Government on March 5, 1986. Conferred in a single class to individuals who contributed to health protection, in the area of improving diagnostic methods, improving conditions of hygiene, health education, etc.

Badge: five pointed cross of yellow metal, 25 mm in diameter. The oxidized black central medallion depicts a Caduceus circumscribed ZA ZASLUGI / DLA OCHRONY ZDROWIA. The reverse has a mounting pin.

Decoration for Exemplary Work in Health Service

(Odznaka honorowa "Za Wzorowa Prace w Sluzbie Zdrowia")

Instituted by the Government on July 18, 1950, modified completely in March 1986. Conferred in a single class to doctors and other staff of medical services and social welfare for long and exemplary work.

Badge 1950: silver plaque, 19 x 23 mm, in the form of a shield, surrounded by a corn wreath. In the center there is a round medallion with a five armed red cross on yellow background, with a snake and chalice inside. Above the medallion there is a three-line inscription ZA / WZOROWA / PRACE, and below there is a semicircle inscribed W SLUZBIE ZDROWIA. The reverse has a mounting pin.

Badge 1986: round plaque, 25 mm in diameter. In the center there is a red cross of five arms on white background with a Caduceus inside. The cross is surrounded by a golden ring with the inscription ZA WZOROWA PRACE : W SLUZBIE ZDROWIA. The whole is surrounded by a gold laurel wreath. The reverse has a mounting pin.

Decoration for Exemplary Work in Veterinary Service

(Odznaka "Za Wzorowa Prace w Sluzbie Weterynaryjnej")

Instituted by the Government on November 4, 1964. Conferred in a single class to members of veterinary service for exemplary work.

Badge: silver oxidized octagonal plaque, 28 mm in diameter, depicting a sword encircled by two snakes, and with a laurel spray on the left and right. The whole is circumscribed ZA WZOROWA PRACE / W SLUZBIE WETERYNARYJNEJ. The reverse has a mounting pin.

Meritorious Welfare Worker Decoration

(Odznaka "Zasluzony Opiekun Spoleczny")

Instituted by the Government on July 26, 1966. Conferred in one class to honor the work of welfare workers. Awarded by the Minister of Health and Welfare.

Badge: bronze square plaque 23 x 23 mm, with rounded edges. In the center there are two enameled shaking hands on blue background; a white enameled ring inscribed ZASLUZONY : OPIEKUN SPOLECZNY. The reverse has a mounting pin.

Meritorious Ecology Worker Decoration

(Odznaka "Zasluzony Pracownik Gospodarki Terenowej i Ochrony Srodowiska")

Instituted by the Government on July 12, 1973. Conferred in one class to ecology workers for long and exemplary service.

Badge: bronze rectangular plaque 20 x 23 mm, with a six-line incscription ZASLUZONY / PRACOWNIK / GOSPODARKI / TERENOWEJ / I OCHRONY / SRODOWISKA; the first and the last line being on the red enameled background. The reverse has a mounting pin.
